I am not a Lichenologist. But I’m lichen studying up on these fungus - algae combos. Thanks to the Mountaineers Naturalist group, I’ve recently learned a thing or two about them. Shown here are some photos from a field trip to Mercer Slough in Bellevue, WA.

In order of appearance: Lobaria (Lungwart Lichen), Cladonia with Apothecia, Parmelia (Waxpaper Lichen), Cladonia with “British Soldiers”, Platismata (Rag Lichen), and Usnea (Beard Lichen).
